Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What are the main differences between closed-cell and open-cell Nitrile Rubber structures?

Closed-cell structures provide excellent thermal insulation properties and resistance to water vapor absorption, whereas open-cell structures are highly effective for sound absorption and acoustic control.

Q2: What are the fire resistance classifications of this elastomeric foam?

This material can be classified as Class "O" and Class "1" based on its fire safety characteristics, meeting BS 476 Part 6 & 7 testing standards.

Q3: What is the operating temperature range for this insulation material?

According to the technical data sheet, the safe service temperature range is from -50°C up to 110°C, tested in compliance with GB/T 17794-1999.

Q4: Does Nitrile Rubber insulation resist weathering and environmental exposure?

Yes. The material displays high resistance to fungi (ASTM 21), ozone (GB/T 7762-1987), and weathering/UV exposure (ASTM G23).

Q5: What are the standard dimensions and thicknesses available for the sheets?

The insulation sheets are available in thicknesses from 1/4" (6mm) to 2" (50mm), with roll widths of 1m, 1.2m, and 1.5m to fit various installation requirements.

Q6: What is the thermal conductivity rating of this material?

It features low thermal conductivity values: ≤0.030 W/(m.k) at -20°C, ≤0.032 W/(m.k) at 0°C, and ≤0.036 W/(m.k) at 40°C, tested according to ASTM C 518.
