Product Overview & Applications

Elastomeric tube insulation is designed to retard heat transmission and control condensation from chilled-water and refrigeration systems. It also efficiently reduces heat transfer for hot-water plumbing and liquid-heating and dual-temperature piping.

This insulation tube is ideal for applications in:

  • Ductwork
  • Dual temperature and low pressure steam lines
  • Process piping
  • Air-conditioner, including hot gas piping
Installation Guide

Slip the tubular insulation onto unconnected piping. For already connected piping, slit the insulation lengthwise and snap it over. Seal the joints and seams with specialized adhesive. When installed outdoors, a weather-resistant protective finish is recommended to be applied over the surface to achieve maximum UV protection.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the temperature range of the insulation tube?
The elastomeric insulation tube operates safely within a temperature range of -50°C to 110°C, conforming to the GB/T 17794-1999 standard.
What are the fire safety ratings of this material?
The insulation features Class 0 & Class 1 fire ratings according to BS 476 Part 6 & 7. Additionally, it achieves a 25/50 Flame Spread and Smoke Developed Index under ASTM E 84.
How should the insulation be installed on existing pipelines?
For existing connected pipelines, the insulation can be slit lengthwise, snapped directly over the pipe, and securely sealed at the joints and seams using specialized adhesive.
Is this insulation tube resistant to outdoor environmental elements?
Yes, it demonstrates good resistance to ozone, UV rays, and weathering (tested via ASTM G23). For outdoor installations, a weather-resistant protective finish coating is recommended for maximum UV protection.
What is the thermal conductivity of this insulation?
The thermal conductivity (ASTM C 518) is ≤0.030 W/(m.k) at -20°C, ≤0.032 W/(m.k) at 0°C, and ≤0.036 W/(m.k) at 40°C, ensuring excellent thermal efficiency.
Does the insulation prevent mold and moisture absorption?
Yes, it has a high water vapor permeability resistance factor (μ ≥ 10000) and good fungi resistance (ASTM 21), preventing moisture buildup and mold growth.
