The Thermodynamics of Closed-Cell Elastomeric Insulation

Kingflex NBR/PVC elastomeric thermal systems counter these risks by leveraging a closed-cell microstructure. With over 98% closed cells, our materials provide a built-in vapor barrier, maintaining structural dryness and a low thermal conductivity rating (λ ≤ 0.034 W/m·K at 0°C). Unlike fibrous insulation systems which require external jackets, elastomerics block vapor absorption intrinsically.

By incorporating high structural resilience and flexibility, elastomeric insulation reduces thermodynamic bridge losses across irregular piping systems, elbows, valves, and manifold joints, ensuring system longevity in critical HVAC applications.
